Privacy Policy

Your privacy is as important to us as it is to you. Seattle Mortgage Company and the companies of Seattle Financial Group (further referred to as "we" or "us") value you, our customer, and we respect your privacy.
 
Your Financial Privacy
 
We are committed to sharing with you:
  • the sources of information we collect from you,
  • measures we take to secure your information, and
  • the information we may share about you with other entities.
Please read this to learn how we handle your information and how you may opt out of certain information disclosures. We suggest that you share this information with anyone with whom you share an account, such as a joint account holder or co-borrower.
 
The Information We Collect
 
Seattle Mortgage Company limits the collection, use, and retention of customer information to only the information we believe is necessary to conduct your business transaction, to provide you quality service, to comply with applicable laws, and to offer products and services that may be of interest to you. 
We collect information about you from the following sources:
  • applications and other forms you submit,
  • your transactions with us,
  • your transactions with our affiliates,
  • third parties with whom we verify information you provide, and
  • consumer reporting agencies.
The Confidentiality, Security, and Integrity of Your Information
 
We restrict access to information about you to only those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect this information.
 
Our policies also require that your information remain confidential even if you are no longer a customer.
 
Phishing and Pharming
 
We will never send unsolicited emails, instant messages, or make unsolicited telephone calls asking clients to provide, update or verify personal or account information such as; logon IDs, PIN numbers, social security numbers, tax identification numbers, account numbers, password information and/or other confidential financial information, and we do not send e-mail warnings about computer virus information. 
 
If you receive a communication that appears to be from us requesting personal information or are uncertain as to the authenticity of a communication, notify us immediately at fraud@seattlefinancialgroup.com or call 800.643.6610.
 
Your Information and Our Affiliates
 
We may disclose certain types of information about you to our affiliates in order to provide you with information about additional products and services. The information we share from our account records may include information about your transactions and experience with us. Disclosing this information is permissible by federal law and may include the following information:
  • name and address,
  • account balances and account activity,
  • types of accounts,
  • deposit history, and 
  • loan-to-value ratios.
Information we receive about you from applications, forms and credit reporting agencies may also be shared. However, you may opt out of the disclosure of the following types of information:
  • social security number,
  • assets,
  • income,
  • liabilities,
  • creditworthiness, and 
  • credit history.
Types of Affiliates
 
We may disclose information about you to our following affiliates:
  • Seattle Bank,
  • Seattle Capital,
  • Seattle Escrow,
  • Seattle Insurance Group, and
  • Seattle Mortgage Company.
Authorized Sharing - Outside Sharing and/or Joint Marketing Services
 
We may disclose information that we've obtained from our experience and transactions with you to companies that perform marketing on our behalf and institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements (i.e. other financial institutions and financial service providers). Disclosing this type of information (i.e. a customer's name, address, types of accounts and account balances) is permissible by law. Disclosure of this type of information is intended to facilitate the sale of our products or products of our affiliates. Information disclosed to the institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements is to be used for the purpose of direct mail solicitations only. We do not disclose information about former customers, except as permitted by law. We will not disclose information about you to anyone except as disclosed in this policy or as permitted by law. This might include disclosures necessary to service your account, perform joint marketing efforts, or prevent unauthorized transactions.
 
Terms and Definitions
 
Affiliate - A company we own or control, a company that owns or controls us, or a company that is owned or controlled by the same company that owns or controls us. Ownership does not mean complete ownership, but means owning enough to have control.

Non-Public Personal Information - Information about you that we collect in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. Nonpublic personal information does not include information that is available from public sources, such as telephone directories or government records.

Opt out - A choice you can make to prevent the sharing of non-public personal information.
 
Your Right to Opt Out
 
If you prefer that we not share non-public personal information about you (except as necessary for operations, or as otherwise permitted by law), you may opt-out. You may direct us to not share such information. If you wish to opt out of disclosure of your information, you may do so by selecting one of the options below:
